Since 2014, Postman has been key for API development. It offers tools to design, test, document, and monitor APIs, making it easier for developers to work together and create better APIs faster.
This high-level guide covers how to create Postman integrations and the benefits of using Postman.

Size of Postman's integration ecosystem

Postman is used by 30 million developers in 500,000 companies, including 98% of Fortune 500 companies. With about 35 official integrations, 27 native integrations, the Postman platform isn’t overcrowded yet.

Building your Postman integration

To create one, use Postman's APIs and open-source tech. Check out Postman's developer resources too. Your integration might be managed from your platform or available in Postman's app marketplace, depending on your partnership type (more on that below!)

Becoming an official Postman integration partner

There are two types of official partnerships with Postman: Integration Partner and Strategic Partner

  • Integration Partners: This is a more self-serve option. You get access to a partner Slack channel and office hours, but limited direct support from Postman.
  • Strategic Partners: Reserved for widely used integrations crucial to the API lifecycle. These partners get more go-to-market (GTM) support and Postman will natively support these integrations, allowing users to install them directly within the API platform.

Is your SaaS a good fit for a Postman Integration?

Below is the current spread of strategic integrations on Postman’s platform but more broadly tools tools that are part of the API lifecycle make good candidates for Postman integrations.

Postman also has an open list of user-requested integrations, providing insight into what users are looking for. You can check out these requests here.
