For the first four years of Lunch Pail Labs, “marketing” meant posting on Twitter. It worked well—I even landed my first six-figure contract through a DM. But after facing family illnesses and loss, I didn’t have the energy to keep up, and the momentum I built on Twitter dried up. Now, figuring out what to post feels like it drains my energy.
As I plan for Q4 2024, I’m redefining what marketing means for Lunch Pail Labs, shifting away from short-term social posts and focusing on longer-lasting, higher-impact channels.

Here’s where my marketing energy is going:

Blog

I’m continuing my daily blog posts, highlighting my work and how I’m growing the business. It’s a consistent habit that helps me refine my thoughts and can be repurposed across other channels.

Forums

I’m engaging in communities where people are already looking for the solutions I provide, like platform forums. These are targeted spaces to add value and connect with potential users. I also use Google Alerts to stay on top of conversations and may explore Reddit with GummySearch.

Newsletter

I’ve started a newsletter to share a quick roundup of what’s happening on the blog each week. It’s a simple way for anyone interested to stay updated on the latest articles and insights.

YouTube

My main distribution tactic for the add-ons I’m building is YouTube. When I create a how-to guide, I make a video as well. It’s a great way to reach a wider audience and share tutorials.

Programmatic SEO

I’m focusing on ranking for specific use cases related to the platforms I build on. I’m already seeing some inbound traffic and can scale this in batches. I’ve written more about the approach here.

Social

I’ve struggled to maintain a rhythm on social media (Twitter). For now, I’m just sharing shorter versions of my blog posts and the occasional screenshot. It’s not a deep habit anymore.
This shift is about investing in channels that offer long-term returns, allowing me to cut once and hit multiple times. It’s a more sustainable approach that aligns with my goals for building a scalable business.
What channels and strategies are you focusing on in 2024? I’d love to hear—send me a note.
